The staff thanks you to ensure you stay on the roadways with vehicles to prevent damage, as the ground is soft this time of year.

Registration will take place from 5:30-5:50, with instructions/mass start at 6:00pm. So that participants are not shivering in the cold too long, we will endeavour to start on time. If necessary, an extra mass start will take place at 615 for anyone arriving after registration closes.

NOTE: Please pre-register by Thursday, December 13, 2018 to guarantee a map, as well as a special gift!!

Please join the Annapolis Valley Orienteering Club (AVOC) for a fun event designed to help get you in the holiday spirit. This will be a Score O course with a twist:

The objective of the Grinch O is to find as many control locations as possible in the park using a map, compass, headlamp/flashlight and a punch card to record the controls you have found. However, there is a catch: There will be participants designated as “Grinches” waiting in the shadows to “Grinch” you and take away your punch card and all of your hard-earned points.

There will be some protection from the Grinches—3 objects (“The Sled”, “The Sack of Presents” or “The Garland”) will be placed at random controls. Participants who find them AND are carrying one of the items with them are immune to being tagged by a Grinch. The Start/Finish area is also a Safe Zone where participants cannot be tagged by a Grinch.

The Grinch-O can be done as an individual or in teams. Teams must stay within 3 metres of each other during the event.

The individual or team with the most points after 45 minutes wins the event.
